Phase I: Deploy the Backbone OC192
September 2005

  • Between MIA-ATL, ATL-WDC, WDC-NYC
  • 10Gbs WAN PHY ethernet over NLR wave initially
  • Migration of existing exchange switches/networks including regional backhaul and reconfiguration of existing exchange services and networks

Phase II: Sonet Switch Deployment
December 2005

  • Map IP/Ethernet Peering Fabric across "appropriate" sized VCG (GFP-F & VCAT)
  • Engineer and deploy GLIF Common Services in conjunction with other GLIF domains

Phase III: Deploy Dynamic Light Path Services
March 2006

Phase IV: Expansion
April 2006 and Ongoing

  • Integrate links between AtlanticWave, Pacific Wave, Northern Tier, etc.
  • Engineer and deploy GLIF Common Services in conjunction with other GLIF domains
